Our Position Statement :
We as members of “Friends of Cow Creek Preserve” support the objectives
of the Stewardship Council, CCWMG, and WSRCD.
These objectives include:
1. Enhance the beneficial values and uses of the watershed lands and to
improve the lives of young Californians through connections to the
outdoors.
2. Use the resources in the Cow Creek Watershed in a way to meet the
needs of today without infringing on the needs of future generations.
3. Promote a sustainable community in the Cow Creek Watershed. This
biological community includes the human community as well as the aquatic
and terrestrial plants and animals, and associated habitats. We
recognize that a sound economic base of the human community is the first
requisite of a healthy ecosystem.
Our success as a group will only be possible if we work with ranching,
recreation, environmental, residential, and timber interests in the Cow
Creek Watershed to attain these objectives.
Representations made by members should reflect these objectives.

FoCCP was formed initially with the above objective as our sole objective. We wish to support the preservation of this land for future generations. Our members are comprised of landowners, ranchers, businessmen and other interested individuals. We represent our members' interests as well as the aforementioned general interest in preserving this land.

We recently changed our By-Laws to support retaining the 104 year old Kilarc Reservoir as a recreation area and also a site for 'green' electricity. We aid the 'Save Kilarc' committee headed by Glenn Dye as the secondary point of interest for FoCCP.
